ALECTRA CARES ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY

Through the AlectraCARES Community Support Program, we fund local charitable, non-profit, and not-for-profit organizations that support communities within our service territory. Our application and review process is guided by sustainability pillars that help us meet the needs of present and future generations. These pillars ensure that our funding is directed to organizations that share our vision to build sustainable communities.

Alectra's 2025 Community Support Program will focus on building sustainability in our communities by directing funding towards the following areas:

• Food security and housing security 
• Mental health and access to health care
• Indigenous support and reconciliation efforts
• Vulnerable groups (seniors, children/youth, low-income households)
• Environmental conservation and animal welfare
• Scholarships, education and employment
• Celebrating cultural diversity and equal opportunities for equity groups (visible minorities, 2SLGBTQI+, newcomers, persons with disabilities, women) 

Although these are our key focus areas, we may still support events and programs that benefit our customers and contribute to building sustainable communities.

Our Application Process:

Our application portal opens in July of each year to intake applications for the following year. The portal stays open between July and September. Applications are reviewed in the Fall and applicants are notified of their funding status by the end of the year.
